COVER REVEAL: A Dream Not Imagined by Shantelle Mary

{About the Book}

A MAID, a PRINCE, and a DUKE. A GARDENER, a STEPMOTHER, and a secret...

     Ellie Abbington, a beautiful yet unassuming young woman, quietly longs for her life to change. Too privileged to associate with the servants—too underprivileged to associate with her own family; she dreams a dream of a prince and a happily ever after.

     But it could be that her own stepsisters, conniving Dezmarie and easily-influenced Adelaide, are dreaming the same dream...of the same prince.

     In the end, are dreams even all they're made out to be? Especially with deep and long-hidden secrets about to be unearthed?

A Dream Not Imagined is a non-magical fairytale novella based loosely on the classic tale of Cinderella.

Tentative Release Date: June 2015

{My Review}

Out of the six books Harlequin sent me to read and review I was most looking forward reading this book in particular. The title along with the cover caught my attention right away and then the summary of the book sealed the deal for me. The story was cute, sweet, emotional, and oh so romantic. It was the perfect Spring/Summer read.

REVIEW: A Sparrow in Terezin by Kristy Cambron

REVIEW: A Sparrow in Terezin by Kristy Cambron

{About the Book}

Two women, one in the present day and one in 1942, each hope for a brighter future. But they'll both have to battle through their darkest days to reach it.

"Today. "With the grand opening of her new gallery and a fairytale wedding months away, Sera James appears to have a charmed life. But in an instant, the prospect of a devastating legal battle surrounding her fiance threatens to tear her dreams apart. Sera and William rush to marry and are thrust into a world of doubt and fear as they defend charges that could separate them for life.

"June 1942. "After surviving the Blitz bombings that left many Londoners with shattered lives, Kaja Makovsky prayed for the war to end so she could return home to Prague. But despite the horrors of war, the gifted journalist never expected to see a headline screaming the extermination of Jews in work camps. Half-Jewish with her family in danger, Kaja has no choice but to risk everything to get her family out of Prague. But with the clutches of evil all around, her escape plan crumbles into deportation, and Kaja finds herself in a new reality as the art teacher to the children of Terezin.

Bound by a story of hope and the survival of one little girl, both Sera and Kaja will fight to protect all they hold dear.

{My Review}

I was so impressed by Cambron's debut novel, The Butterfly and the Violin. I was completely absorbed in that story and after I finished I immediately wanted and needed the sequel. When it came time for the organization of the launch team for A Sparrow in Terezin I jumped at the opportunity. And when it came in the mail I may have done a happy dance and squealed. (Of course I did.) Unfortunately, I had other review books to read first but I started it as soon as I could.

I started this book around noon and I never put it down! The story begins at Sera and William's wedding which they rushed towards due to pending legal issues for William. After the ceremony the Feds show up an officially arrest William on fraud charges. And Sera promises she will never give up on proving her husband's innocence. Sera even goes to London to see her husband's father. Sera even has a exciting secret she's keeping from William.

A Sparrow in Terezin was another delightful read which also ended Sera and William's story and gave us Kaja's story. The latter was heart wrenching. If you love historical fiction and contemporary fiction this is the book for you. I'm also looking forward to Kristy's next works which are set in the Gilded Age.

REVIEW: Together With You by Victoria Bylin w/SPOILERS!

{About the Book}

A Tender Contemporary Romance about Finding Unexpected Love
When a Lost Child warning blasts over the mall's PA system, toy store manager Carly Mason finds the little girl playing with a stuffed rabbit. Something about five-year-old Penny Tremaine is different. An ex-social worker, Carly recognizes that Penny suffers fetal alcohol effects, and a piece of Carly's own past suddenly confronts her. Never again will Carly become involved with a client. The risks are far too great. But something about Penny--and Penny's handsome father--tugs at Carly's heart. Before she has time to think it through, she agrees to a much-needed job as a nanny.
Dr. Ryan Tremaine knows he messed up his life. But this summer he will redeem himself. With his ex-wife remarried and on a trip far away, his two teenage sons and Penny are living under his roof full time. Ryan is dedicated to his sink-or-swim list, a plan to reconnect with his children. The first step: recruiting Carly Mason to be Penny's nanny.
Ryan never anticipated being so drawn to Carly, an attraction Carly seems to fight as much as he does. Could Carly be the missing piece that helps his family stay afloat, or will their blossoming romance only complicate things further?

{My Review} With Spoilers!

Like I've said before I sat down to write this review, WOW!! This book was an absolute page turner from the very first page. The story begins with Ryan at the mall with his children and all of a sudden his youngest, Penny goes missing. She is eventually found at a toy store by our main character Carly. Carly has a past she has not dealt with yet. A past that has kept her from doing what she was called to do. However, she still has faith. Faith that she will be able to get past it. Ryan is the opposite of her, he has no faith. In the story Ryan describes himself as more of an agnostic than an atheist. Ryan also has a past. He had an affair which led to the birth of his daughter Penny, who has FASD-Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and ended his marriage. Penny's mother was killed in a car accident leaving Ryan to care for Penny. Ryan and Carly eventually have to come together to help care for Penny and all her special needs. Through everything Ryan and Carly find themselves falling for each other, but Carly is keeping Ryan at bay because he is not a believer.

I was wondering where Victoria was going to take this book, but once I got to the end I was highly satisfied. It was a page turner from the beginning and I really did stay up until almost 3 am to finish. I really enjoyed Ryan and even more and more as the story went on. Carly was a wonderful character, flaws and all. Oh boy--can we just talk about Ryan's conversion scene at the end of the book!! It was amazing and I cried while reading it. It was fantastic! If you looking for a great romance book for Spring or should get this book!

[My Review]

Rating: 5 Glorious Stars.

Wow! That was fantastic!!

An Uncertain Choice by Jody Hedlund is a Young Adult Medieval fiction. It is Jody's first foray into Young Adult fiction, as she normally writes Adult Historical fiction. (I highly recommend all of Jody's other novels.) An Uncertain Choice was the perfect Historical YA read. It had everything I was hoping for: Knights, Princesses, sword fights, and swoon-worthy romance. Everybody should read this book. It's the perfect book for Historical fiction fans of ALL ages. Suffice to say I am excited beyond words for Jody's next book which releases October 2015!
